Math is a subject that can be poorly understood by both children and adults, especially in secondary education. This is because in the absence of digital tools, math in the higher grades can often be focussed on theory and drill calculations. As a result, students think that math is not relevant for them or they might not understand it sufficiently to pursue it in higher education.

As technology quickly evolves, the focus in teaching is shifting from theory-centered practices, where students memorize concepts, calculations and solutions, to exploration-centered practices, where students understand, solve problems and explore aplications of their knowledge to real-life situations.

With exploratory lessons slowly becoming the norm in classrooms worldwide, scientific calculators are a widely used and highly appreciated digital tool.
